Welcome to MATT!

The Midwest Association for Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (MATT) is a non-profit, Midwest regional organization of science professionals who have overlapping interests in Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM). MATT was founded in 1995 by over 100 charter members. MATT provides a platform for exchange of information through newsletters and annual meetings at minimal cost to the members. Our members help mentor new scientists in the field. We strive to maintain an informal atmosphere that invites participation from all professionals and students in the field of Toxicology.

Meetings and Networking

“Dr. Irving Sunshine instilled in me the principles of hard work, integrity, collaboration, and investment in future generations of scientists.”

Steven Wong, Ph.D. Founding Member of MATT

Inviting and Friendly

Every single person at MATT was so kind and open to talking about anything pertaining to research, life, or humorous topics. Going into this conference, I was terrified and did not know what to expect in relation to presenting, meeting other scientists, and the entire experience as a whole. Coming out of the conference I feel motivated to continue research and sharing my research, as well as feel as though I have an entire group of people who don’t just know my work, but me as a person as well.

Katherine Davis, B.S.

Great Opportunity for Students

I am very proud of all my students for their passion and dedication to their work. Also, I am very appreciative of the incredible hospitality and opportunities that the conference represented for each of them and me. Kudos to the organizers, sponsors, and experts that joined the vent, and we are looking forward to continuing to attend this meeting in the near future.

Luis Arroyo, Ph.D.

Great Community

My experience at MATT 2022 was amazing. In a small-scale environment, the presence of a tight-knit, supportive, and welcoming community was evident. MATT fostered opportunities to have meaningful interactions with other attendees and to learn something new whether it was about career path options in forensic toxicology, cutting-edge technology, or a new topic of research.

Laerissa Reveil, M.S.

Let’s Go!

As a regional conference, MATT provided myself and my fellow students with the perfect atmosphere and environment to network with some of the most well-known toxicologists in the country. As students, this opportunity is priceless, resulting in connections that will last throughout our future careers and could lead to jobs, collaborations, and numerous future opportunities.

Colby Ott, Ph.D.

First MATT Meeting

Overall, I was quite impressed with the level of expertise and range of professions represented at the 2022 MATT annual meeting. The smaller-scale attendance was particularly attractive to me because it allowed for more intimate engagement with others at the meeting.

Casey Mims, M.S.
